WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Just when you thought the struggling Capitals couldn’t sink any lower, they managed to top (?) themselves with last night’s 1-0 loss to the visiting New York Islanders.
The long-downtrodden Islanders came to Verizon Center with the NHL’s fifth-fewest points and having allowed more goals than any team except Edmonton, but Washington couldn’t put a single puck in the net.
After Washington was outshot 28-22 and its once-dominant power play failed on all six opportunities, ex-Cap Alan May, now a Comcast analyst, tweeted, “Most painful Caps home game to watch this season. Poor decisions awful execution and bumped off puck every shift.”
Coach Adam Oates said that his reeling team might have been tired in its third game in four days. Eric Fehr blamed an ongoing tendency to take penalties while fellow forward Martin Erat said the Caps were flat.

As of January 6, 2014, gay marriage has been legalized in 17 US states and 33 states have Gay marriage ban or laws against same-sex marriages.the Same-sex couples should be allowed to publicly celebrate their commitment in the same way as heterosexual couples. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation states that many same-sex couples “want the right to legally marry and honor their relationship in the greatest way our society has to offer. did you know that “traditional marriage” is historically incorrect? in modern and ancient examples of family arrangements one man and one woman can be considered “unnatural” and gay marriage has correlated with a low divorce rates WHILE bans on gay marriages leads to higher divorce rates! although marriage is a religious right between one man and one woman same-sex marriage should have this right and benefits like heterosexual couples do! also gay marriages bring financial gain to local and state governments because the revenue from gay marriages comes from the marriage licenses, higher taxes and also decreases the cost for state benefit programs. New York did research and found out that legalizing gay marriage would bring them about $142 million to their economy! Did you know that there are 100,00 children waiting to be adopted? legalizing gay marriage could make it easier for the same-sex couples to adopt and create a stable home for these children. n June 7, 2010 found that children of lesbian mothers were rated higher than children of heterosexual parents in social and academic competence and had fewer social problems and in July 2010 study found that children of gay fathers were “as well-adjusted as those adopted by heterosexual parents. ” As Washington Post columnist Ezra Klein argues, “We should be begging gay couples to adopt children. We should see this as a great boon that gay marriage could bring to kids who need nothing more than two loving parents.” this I agree with because all these children want are two loving parents. As these children grow up they would have a lot of question about why they have two mommy’s or two daddy’s while her friends have one mom and one dad. The parents would have to explain this to them and help the child to understand but other than this the children would have a nice place to call home! in a supreme court case in 1967 confirmed that marriage is “one of the basic civil rights to man” and same-sex marriages should receive the same protections that are given to interracial marriage so therefor same-sex marriage is a civil right!!! WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON GAY MARRIAGE?
choosing a label for yourself becomes an intimate part of what make p you.As soon as you identify yourself with a certain group- whether it’s emo, punk, prep, or scene then you start to define other people based on this label. I admit it labeling yourself to a certain group feels great makes you feel like you belong somewhere or also known as your identity but little did you know it also limits you in a lot of ways. being a part of this “group” it gives you a “mental shortcut” by changing the way you think and act. I mean instead of thinking for yourself all you have to do is copy the other member of this blind identity. You also agree much easier when you are in this group which they say something you agree a lot easier or disagree when they disagree. Another thing that happens is that you begin to dislike a lot of people for no reason at all and when this happens you view everything as “us vs. them.” When you Don’t label yourself you can connect with more people a lot easier. Labeling limits who you become as a person and how you view yourself and others again using “us vs. them.” In other words be careful when you use labels because it has it’s pros and its cons.
